Originally from France and based in Tokyo, I studied English and Japanese for six years at a French university. During my studies, I also worked for an online gaming company, where I was responsible for coordination tasks. After moving to Japan, I continued studying Japanese while working in a role supporting French students planning to study in Japan.
Since 2015, I have worked as an independent translator, primarily translating from Japanese and English into French. My services include translation, proofreading and editing, subtitling, transcription, and translation project coordination.
Over the years, I have worked with Japanese and international companies, government and public-sector organizations, translation agencies, and production companies. My translation experience covers a wide range of fields, including user manuals and technical documentation, patent-related documents, corporate and compliance materials, tourism and cultural content, audiovisual subtitles, and video game localization.
Alongside my translation work, I run a classical ballet school and rental studio in Shinjuku, Tokyo. I also create ballet-focused websites, brochures, performance programs, and other communication materials.
Drawing on my professional experience and specialist knowledge of ballet, I also provide specialized translation services for classical ballet and the performing arts. These include materials for ballet schools and stage productions, competitions, documentaries, audiovisual subtitles, and documents related to studying and training abroad. Beyond specialized terminology, my understanding of ballet repertoire, stage performance, and teaching enables me to produce natural French translations that accurately reflect the context and purpose of each project.
As a native French translator, I do more than accurately convey the meaning of the original text: I ensure that every translation is natural, clear, and appropriate for its purpose, target audience, and medium. I also pay close attention to terminology and consistency with existing materials. From the initial inquiry through to final delivery, all communication can be handled directly in Japanese.
